What is KAWASAKI SYNDROME?

Kawasaki Syndrome was first detected by a Japanese doctor Tomisaku Kawasaki in Japan.It is also known by different names like lymph node syndrome,infantile polyarteritis and mucocutaneous node disease.This non contagious disease can effect skin,organs and mucous membrane though not much research is done on this.However ultimately the heart is effected.It usually effects young children in the age group of to 5 years but mutations can be different.
What are the syn toms of Kawasaki disease?
High and persistent fever which does not respond to paracetamol or ibuprofen.The fever may go on for two weeks and ultimately heart gets effected and feeling of irritation is detected.More symptoms are red tongue(strawberry tongue),red eyes,red cracked lips and swolen lymph nodes.Skin rashes and peeling of skin can be seen too speacially in the genitical area.

KAWASAKI DISEASE SYNTOMS:
1.High-grade fever (greater than 39 °C or 102 °F; often as high as 40 °C or 104 °F) that normally lasts for more than 5 days if left untreated.
2.Red eyes (conjunctivitis) without pus or drainage, also known as "conjunctival injection"
3.Bright red, chapped, or cracked lips
4.Red mucous membranes in the mouth
5.Strawberry tongue, white coating on the tongue or prominent red bumps (papillae) on the back of the tongue
6.Red palms of the hands and the soles of the feet
7.Swollen hands and feet
8.Rash which may take many forms, but not vesicular (blister-like), on the trunk
9.Swollen lymph nodes (frequently only one lymph node is swollen), particularly in the neck area
10.Joint pain (arthralgia) and swelling, frequently symmetrical
Irritability
11.Tachycardia (rapid heart beat)
12.Peeling (desquamation) palms and soles (later in the illness); peeling may begin around the nails
13.Beau's lines (transverse grooves on nails)

Travolta's son did NOT "die" of Kawasaki's Syndrome. Probably a separate seizure disorder

Kawasaki disease should be treated in its early stages to avoid further health complication. Early treatment is effective in preventing this, but first Kawasaki disease must be recognized.

Kawasaki disease usually effects children and is marked in stages.It is also called allergic reaction.
